Dholera SIR, the biggest city in India, is about to take place and make everyone proud. As one of India’s Special Investment Regions, it offers new technologies, amenities, and a new way of life. While looking at Dholera Smart City’s project, one can say that it is a gradual process that will soon make Dholera SIR the face of Gujarat.
While talking about projects and investment, there is another huge project making its way towards Dholera Smart City. As per the recent reports, there will be two fabrication units in Dholera SIR for the semiconductor manufacturing operation. To add more information, it is reported that Tata Electronic has partnered with Taiwan’s Powerchip Semiconductor Manufacturing Corporation for the initial phase of development. When it will be opened and who will be the subsequent partner is still under discussion. But soon this project will give Dholera SIR as well as Gujarat a new identity.
As there is a huge demand for semiconductors, Tata Electronics wanted to create something in the lap of their country. In enhancing the domestic production capabilities, the Dholera plant plays a crucial role. With the Dholera plant, they are also constructing a USD 3.26 billion facility in Assam. This plant is currently undergoing an environmental assessment process.
Tata Electronic semiconductor electronics plant’s project budget is estimated to be around 91,000 crores. Government subsidies from both central and state authorities anticipate covering up to 70% of project expenses. With all the investments, Dholera will become the pride of India.
The first part of the project, which will be opened in March, will solely focus on manufacturing chips for power management circuits, microcontrollers, display drivers, and high-performance computing logic. These are foremost necessities for industries like automotive, data storage, computing, and artificial intelligence. As Tata will create all these in India, it will be a huge success for Indian industries as well as prove to be more cost-effective than importing it from abroad. Once the plant is fully functional, it is estimated to reach a maximum product capacity of 50,000 wafers per month.
This project is a joint venture of Tata Electronics and Taiwan’s PCMS. With the estimated cost of ₹910, this project will also create job opportunities for the youth of India in their own country. As per the reports, this project will generate around 20,000 skilled jobs directly or indirectly.
With all the benefits, Tata Electronic’s plant will shape the future of Dholera smart city and give it a new identity in the technology world. With Satyaja, let’s be a part of Gujarat’s growth and witness it becoming a huge success.
